Online EMDR & IFS Therapy for Adults in Colorado

Create more room for the life you want to participate in.

You have responsibilities. You need to earn a living. People depend on you. You may care deeply about your work and relationships and still wonder how much of yourself it takes to keep everything going.

Perhaps being capable, useful, or easy to get along with helped you stay connected or protected earlier in life. Now you find yourself overworking, second-guessing, taking responsibility for everyone, or pulling away when you’ve had enough.

Those patterns meet a world that keeps asking for more. More output. More competition. More ways to turn your time, attention, and interests into something profitable. Finding room to live differently takes more than deciding to set better boundaries.

More choice in how you respond. More room for how you want to live.

Through IFS and EMDR, we work with the experiences and protective patterns that shape how you respond: the pressure to keep proving yourself, the fear of disappointing someone, the shutdown when conflict feels inescapable.

We also explore what you want to develop. Relationships with room for honesty and mutual care. Work that supports your life. The ability to grieve, enjoy something without becoming good at it, or make a choice without needing everyone’s approval.

Your life reaches beyond you.

We live within relationships, communities, places, and ecosystems. Their conditions shape what is possible for us, and our participation helps shape what happens within them.

A regenerative perspective brings attention to those relationships and the conditions that help life develop. Where is care mutual? What keeps getting depleted? What needs protection, repair, or room to grow?

These questions belong in therapy alongside trauma, grief, conflict, and the practical need to pay the bills. They help us consider how change in your life can take root in the world you actually inhabit.

What you’re carrying. What you’re questioning. What you want to change.

  • Identity, direction, and life transitions
Changes in work, relationships, or family roles that raise questions about who you are, what matters to you, and how you want to participate in what comes next.

  • Patterns that leave little room for you
Perfectionism, overworking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, taking excessive responsibility, and withdrawing from connection when it becomes overwhelming.

  • Family trauma and estrangement
Childhood emotional neglect, parentification, sibling abuse, parental addiction, and difficult decisions about contact, boundaries, and belonging.

  • Betrayal and abuse
Childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, coercive or psychologically abusive relationships, and the impact of being disbelieved or left unprotected.

  • Traumatic and complicated grief
Grief after conflicted or estranged relationships; loss without clarity or closure; and deaths involving sudden, violent, or other traumatic circumstances.

“Many of the responses we call anxiety, shame, avoidance, or control began as intelligent attempts to protect us. Healing becomes possible when these protective patterns are met with curiosity instead of judgment.”

What to Expect in Sessions

Sessions are active and experiential. We work directly with memories, emotions, beliefs, body responses, and protective reactions connected to what brings you to therapy.

We pay attention to what those reactions have helped you manage, what they cost you now, and what supports a different response. That includes the relationships and circumstances you return to between sessions.

There is enough structure to keep the work moving and enough flexibility to respond to what happens in the moment.

The aim is more choice in how you respond, more room for what matters, and relationships that help sustain those changes.

All sessions are held via secure telehealth and are available to adults throughout Colorado.

Couples Therapy

Trauma and attachment wounds also shape how couples handle conflict, closeness, trust, and repair.

With advanced training in IFIO, IFS, attachment theory, and trauma-focused couples therapy, I help couples change the patterns that keep leading to conflict, distance, defensiveness, or disconnection.
